As we approach their 20th anniversary, DaPoPo is excited to be putting energy back into building community, producing and organizing – and hatching new ideas. “We have been somewhat dormant for the last few years, with many of our original members branching out into family and professional life,” says Williams.

Like so many others, the company was severely impacted by the changes in the industry during the first three COVID years. This feels like a tentative step towards reinventing the company for another decade.

"We have a cute book exchange and all sorts of fun, interesting programming," says Williams. "We are curating a warm, welcoming space, a supportive designated art space, and trying to keep it open to the community."

To keep the space open, we are accepting donations. If you are in the position to donate, donations can be made by e-Transfer to DaPoPo Theatre at admin@dapopotheatre.com, or by cheque (6068 Quinpool Rd, Halifax, NS B3L 1A1), or you can support us on Patreon at patreon.com/DaPoPoTheatre. Tax deductible donations can be made through Theatre Nova Scotia's Theatre Partnership Program  at theatrens@theatrens.ca using charitable # 11906 3394 RR0001. Donations can be made directly to TNS by cheque made out to “Theatre Nova Scotia”. Please specify DaPoPo Theatre on the cheque.

COVID protocol: The Nest is in a small indoor space. While masking is not mandatory, we will have masks and hand sanitizer on site. We strongly urge anyone who is feeling sick or exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms to stay home out of consideration for others. Short of that, we encourage you to mask.
